Dear CEIN Students,
Congratulations on completing your first CEIN semester and demonstrating tremendous agility and flexibility with transitioning to on-line learning. Here a some important updates and reminders.
First, beginning with summer courses, we will use remote proctoring services to administer exams to protect exam integrity with ATI and Examplify (ExamSoft). Proctorio is the service we will use for all ATI exams, ExamID and Exam Monitor will be used to administer exams with Examplify (ExamSoft). The first attached document is a Student Quick start guide that outlines the technical requirements to use Proctorio. The second document describes the technical requirements and student preparation before and after completing your exam in Examplify and the last document is the agreement to collect biometric data when taking an exam in Examplify. Both proctoring services require a webcam and microphone. Please read all three documents carefully.
Please contact your respective summer course faculty if you do not have these technical features on your laptop or desktop computer. We plan to begin using these proctoring features in the NURS 4414 and NURS 4301 then continue in NURS 4424 and NRS 4434.
As a reminder to Professor Remibish's announcement/email on 4/22, you will be taking one dosage calculation test for the summer at the beginning of your Behavioral Health course. This test will include calculations similar to what you have done in fundamentals, but will also include drop rates for IV therapy (gtt/min) and pediatric weight based questions. The pediatric weight based questions are different than what you have done thus far as they often refer to safe dosing parameters. While not mandatory, we STRONGLY suggest using all of the resources listed below to prepare:
1. Complete the ATI tutorial pediatric modules (these can be found under the dosage calculation module section you have been working in) You DO NOT need to upload results to Husky CT
2. Complete the ATI practice assessment which is open and available
3. Go to Husky CT under "Organizations" and then into "CEIN BS Information" then to the "Dosage Calculation" tab. There you will find a PPT to review, multiple videos on pediatric calculations, a word document to help you organize pediatric dosage calc questions and 2 practice tests.
4. Review the Policy which is also listed under the dosage calculation tab.
I wish you all a very safe and restful break.! Your faculty and I look forward to seeing you virtually when you return!
Sincerely,
Mimi Snyder PhD, MSN, RN
