Subject: [KIDSCOUNSEL-L] Disability Rights Working Group

The Center for Children's Advocacy held the first "Disability Rights Roundtable" on November 12, 2014.

Based on the interest and the many issues raised during that event we are now creating a Disability Rights Working Group.

Our first meeting is Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at UCONN School of Law, 65 Elizabeth Street, Hartford - Starr Building - Room 204 - Davis Courtroom.

Participants will include the advocates and community members who attended the Roundtable as well as local attorneys from the Justice Department.

At this first meeting, we will identify ways that we can address discrimination against children with disabilities. Possible options would include training for community groups, development of publications, legislative initiatives, etc. Please come with any thoughts that you may have.

Thank you again for your commitment to working toward justice for children with disabilities.

Please contact Bonnie Roswig if you are able to participate in the meeting.
