Please see below for an updated announcement from Prof. Ramanan regarding the upcoming Seminar on Stochastic Processes which will be held at Brown University from May 9 to 12, 2018.

As stated in the announcement, some funding support for travel to this conference will be available. Ph.D. students and early-career researchers (up to 5 years after the Ph.D.) are particularly encouraged to apply for funding, and special consideration will be given to underrepresented groups. To apply, click on the link in the announcement below (or cut and paste that URL into your browser), then click on "Register Here" and follow the prompts. 


It will be very helpful to the organizers if people register early, at the site below, e.g. before February 2018.


In the registration form, you will notice that there is a question asking whether one would like to present an open problem. This is a tradition at SPP, whereby a typically two-to-three hour slot is reserved one afternoon of the conference for anyone to volunteer to present an interesting open problem on stochastic processes or related questions. Everyone in the audience is encouraged to engage in a discussion with the presenter about the problem. This is a very informal activity, and no one should feel shy to present something!
