Hello All,

If you plan to show livestock this weekend please note the following:

All animals must be in place by 6:00 pm Friday - they must remain in place on display until 4:00 pm Sunday

It is going to be fairly hot out. If you have an animal with a condition that is worsened by the heat please make a responsible choice as to if you bring them or not.

Please look over all your exhibit animals. Check them for any sign of illness or other condition. It is species specific - but look for mites, warts, pinkeye, or any other condition that will force the state vet to send you home. If you already know you animal has an issue - leave it at home so it can recover and become well.

Make sure you remember that all equipment must be disinfected on arrival to the fair. every fork, bucket, wheelbarrow, everything!

Make sure not to share equipment between herds. It is important for animals who do not live together not to share things.

Once your animals are in place, they are the responsibility of the 4-H member to care for. ONLY in the case of health or safety should a parent or leader step in. Members can work together on projects, but adults should intervene only in animal or member health and safety instances!

Make sure you go get your wristband at fair check in in the Home Arts area BEFORE you unload an animal. Your superintendents will tell you where your assigned cages are.

If you are not a 4-H fair officer or trained livestock manager or superintendent - you can not arrive with animals before 2:00 pm. If you are an officer, manager or superintendent - you may not arrive with animals before 12:00pm

Please remember its BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICE not to eat in the barns! If the public engage with the non barricaded animals strongly encourage them to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before leaving the livestock area.

Thanks all - lets have a fun, safe, engaging and educational fair!

Emily & Peggy
