This is a reminder that the deadline for applications for support for the PIMS-CRM Summer School in Probability is Dec. 31
(see below).
The 2020 PIMS-CRM Summer School in Probability will be held at the University of British Columbia from June 1-26, 2020.
This month-long program is especially appropriate for young researchers in probability, although others may of course attend.
The main courses will be given by
Ivan Corwin (Columbia University), Interacting particle systems, growth models, stochastic PDEs and directed polymers
through the lens of the stochastic six vertex model
and
Frank den Hollander (University of Leiden), Metastability for interacting particle systems
(Ivan Corwin's course is different from the one he will deliver at Saint-Flour in 2020.)
Three 3-hour mini courses will be given by Paul Bourgade, Jean-Francois Le Gall and Nike Sun. There will also be an
opportunity for some participants to give short talks on their own research. More information about the program may be
found on the School's website at
http://www.math.ubc.ca/Links/ssprob20/
All participants are asked to register and pay a $100 (CDN) registration fee in advance to cover costs of coffee breaks and
planned outings. Registration is done through PIMS; there is a link at the above webpage. Graduate students and postdoctoral
fellows who will attend the entire summer school can apply for financial support for on-campus accommodation through the
above website. The application process includes sending a CV and a letter of reference. Information on other on-campus
housing will be posted later on the website.
Major support for the conference has been provided by PIMS, CRM and the Department of Mathematics at UBC.
