Chris,
I am under the impression that self employed and independent contractors
can collect unemployment as the result of changes to the regulations
given the crisis. I also believe they are eligible for the $600/week
federal unemployment stipend. Are your salon owners telling you they
were denied unemployment?
CT unemployment calculations are based on "claimed earnings". Folks that
have a cash component to their business model might not be claiming all
of their income which will impact the amount they can collect from the
State.
