Good afternoon ED colleagues,

Susie Beckman from Old Saybrook introduced me to a couple of gentlemen, Doug Wrightsman and Alex Foulkes, who have established Shoreline Menus, a locally owned restaurant delivery service - https://shorelinemenus.com/  They work with about 60 restaurants in Old Saybrook, Old Lyme, Essex, Chester, Westbrook and Clinton.  They are looking to expand east toward Mystic and west to the Branford area.  They pitch that they are: 1) a more cost-effective approach for local restaurants than some national order/delivery platforms (16%to20% versus 30% on each order), 2) offer better service since they are locally owned and managed; and 3) money stays local.  

They believe they have a template and the technology for additional, locally-owned order/delivery services to be established in other parts of the state should there be interest.  Alex can be reached at [log in to unmask] or 413-250-3348 if you would like to explore the platform in more detail.   

With the report from the CT Restaurant Association that already 600 restaurants have closed we need to be looking a creative ways to bolster this important sector of our local economies.
