We used CDBG funds for it; so the application and reporting requirements are fairly stringent and will be different than those for ARPA funding. We've granted nearly $300,000 to local businesses. Please note the City Council just passed (Tuesday) a resolution to lower the 24 month requirement to 6 months we just haven't updated the website. The grants were for $5,000.
My suggestion is grants are better than loans as the latter are difficult to administer; and, you grant at least $10,000. We got feedback that there was too much effort required for $5,000.

Subject: Small Business Grants/Loans Utilizing ARPA

Good morning,
Is your municipality planning to utilize American Rescue Plan Act funds for either small business grants or loans? If so, have you developed criteria and an application process for such funds that you would be willing to share?
Thanks,
Patrick
