First-
Draw your centerline directions correctly.
Next, use Maplex and label the left side of the street and align the label with line direction.
Convert those suckers to annotation.
Do the same with the right side.

OR
Don't make annotation but display 2 centerlines at the same time and label one side of each line.

I'm spending my 1,000 points on coffee.

Subject: [CTGIS-L] GIS labeling challenge!

1,000 points (not that points matter in this forum) to the person who can solve my challenge:

I am trying to efficiently label my street centerlines with address ranges- i.e. "1 - 99" on one side and "2-100" on the other. (sounds easy enough, right?)
Here's the scenario:
- I have 4 columns in the street centerline attribute table, from/to left, and from/to right...
- The street centerlines are not always drawn in the correct direction of flow to correspond with the real world addresses
- I would like the address range label to appear on the corresponding side of the street for the addresses on that side of the street (so that "1-99" is on the side of the centerline where addresses 1-99 can be found)

Best of luck to you all! I will gladly and happily (even excitedly) share the solution that works best and most efficiently!

Kind regards,
Thad
