International Student and Scholar Services will offer an International Graduate Student Orientation for incoming F-1 and J-1 visa holders. The deadline for registering for this important orientation is Friday, January 10, 2014.

The orientation consists of a review of the Department of Homeland Security requirements pertaining to your specific visa, graduate school policies and procedures, health services and insurance requirements, payroll and tax issues, security on campus and cultural activities. The session on January 20, 2014 is MANDATORY for all new incoming students with F-1 or J-1 visas.

Graduate Exchange Students: Graduate level exchange students should not attend this orientation, rather you will attend the exchange student orientation offered by Study Abroad.

Regional Campus Students: Students in the Stamford, Hartford (School of Business) and Law School do not have to attend this orientation. An international advisor will visit your campus to present a separate orientation program. All other regional campus students (Avery Point, Greater Hartford) are expected to attend the Storrs campus orientation.

It is strongly recommended that all new international graduate students take advantage of these opportunities to socialize and familiarize themselves with the University campus and learn more about all the programs offered by International Student and Scholar Services.

For more information regarding all international student orientations, both undergraduates and graduates, please go to our web site www.isss.uconn.edu<http://www.isss.uconn.edu>
