Dear F-1 international students:

Did you know we offer workshops throughout the semester?

What is Optional Practical Training (OPT) and how can you benefit from it? What is the difference between Optional Practical Training and Curricular Practical Training? Are you looking to work a summer internship this year? You must have proper work authorization before you can start any off campus employment. Our OPT and CPT workshops will give you the information you need to gain the experience you want! If you are graduating this May and want to work in the U.S. then you MUST attend a Post-completion OPT workshop.
Below please find a link to the schedules of Practical Training workshops for the Spring 2014 semester. Practical Training is a benefit that is available only for F-1 students who have been in F-1 status more than 1 academic year (2 semesters). These informational sessions are helpful for those who are close to degree completion or for those who wish to plan ahead and see what options they may have in the future.

If you would like to attend a session, registration is required. Please sign up by visiting www.icworkshops.uconn.edu<http://www.icworkshops.uconn.edu>
Workshops are held in Storrs, downtown Hartford (School of Business students only) and Stamford campuses.

Please note that there are separate sessions for PRE-COMPLETION Practical Training (CPT/OPT) for current students and for POST-COMPLETION Practical Training (OPT only) for students looking to work after they graduate.

Thank you.
