*Position: Senior Project Manager; East Hartford, CT*


Applied Geographics, Inc. (AppGeo) seeks a talented, experienced and
motivated person to join the company's GIS consulting team as a Senior
Project Manager. The successful applicant will join a professional staff
focused on planning and applying GIS and related technologies to satisfy
client needs. Project requirements include: enterprise system design,
architecture and implementation, business process engineering, spatial data
development, and web applications. Experience with federal, state and local
government agencies is strongly desired, particularly in nationally
important areas such as Transportation, Broadband, Public Safety and
Natural Resources.


This position requires technical expertise and the ability to manage major,
complex projects for demanding clients.  Strong communication skills are
required for both direct customer interaction and acting as a liaison
between the client and AppGeo specialists (i.e. GIS data development,
analyst and software development staff).  Applicants should have practical
knowledge and experience with project management and collaboration tools
such as Microsoft Project and SharePoint, and Google collaboration tools.
Managerial experience with GIS (e.g. Esri, Intergraph, OpenGeo, and/or
Google), CADD (e.g. MicroStation and/or AutoCAD), and RDBMS (e.g. Oracle
and/or SQL Server) is preferred.


Requirements: Applicants should have experience with Professional Services
consulting including some or all of the following areas:

* Federal, state, and large local government-level project management
experience and/or large projects for commercial customers

* System planning and user requirements gathering

* Software application specification (web, mobile and desktop)

* Application programmer interaction and collaboration


Candidates should have, at a minimum:

* Bachelor's degree ; graduate degree is a plus

* 7 years of professional consulting experience including GIS

* 5 years of project management experience (e.g. budgeting, scheduling,
customer relationship management and business development)

* Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) as Project
Management Professional (PMP) is a plus

Applied Geographics, Inc. (AppGeo) seeks a talented and enthusiastic person
to join the company's growing GIS team. The successful applicant will join
a professional staff focused on applying GIS and related technologies to
satisfy client needs. The position requires interaction with project
managers, web developers, and other staff. Candidates need strong technical
GIS abilities and good communication and teamwork skills. We plan to hire
people motivated to learn additional responsibilities as AppGeo grows.


Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in GIS or equivalent experience
in a related field; proficiency with ArcGIS and/or Open Source technologies
and an understanding of database concepts. Experience with AutoCAD or
MicroStation and GPS is a plus, as is hands-on experience with Google's
geo-products.
