Bob Chudy ******************************************************************************************************************* English as a Second Language Writing Workshop: Verb Tenses in Academic Writing-Issues and Strategies This two-hour English as a second language (ESL) workshop will focus on the use of verb tenses in academic writing. The choice of verb tenses represents a challenging task for ESL learners, including ESL writers. This is partly due to transfer from a student's native/first language, whose grammar system may lack tenses (e.g., Chinese). Through a series of steps and interactive activities, we will raise the awareness of self-editing with respect to the correct use of verb tenses in various academic genres, ranging from essays to research articles. Open to all UConn students. Please register at: http://uconnwritingcenter.eventbrite.com/ Date: Wednesday, March 26, 2014 Time: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Place: Gentry (GENT) 140 For more information, contact Jelena Runic at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>
