Meg,

The American Community Survey 5 Year Estimate provides income data at the block group level on an annual basis. While this data is available at the block group, you will notice some of the margins of error will be large due to the smaller sample size upon which these estimates are based.  The latest version of the ACS 5 Year Estimates from 2012 are available via the American FactFinder (http://factfinder2.census.gov). The American FactFinder can be a bit cumbersome with extracting the block group level data, and the Connecticut State Data Center can pull these datasets in mapping friendly formats for Connecticut (that includes anyone on this listserv too).

I will have our staff pull these stats together and email them to you directly.

Cheers,

Michael

Subject: [CTGIS-L] Census income data

What is the smallest, yet latest, geographical breakdown for Census/ACS data on income?  I want to map out low-to-moderate income at the individual and household level and I’d like something at the block or block-group level from the past 5 years if I can.
