On Thursday, April 24th from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM, the UNESCO Chair & Institute of Comparative Human Rights will host a lecture by Anabella Maria Giracca de Castellanos entitled “Human Rights and Indigenous Populations in Latin America.”  The public lecture will be held in Konover Auditorium (Dodd Center).   

 

Anabella Giracca is currently working as the Director of the Institute of Linguistics and Interculturality at the University Rafael Landivar, where she is also Director of the UNESCO Chair Office of Communication for the Strengthening of Cultural Diversity.  She is an international lecturer, accomplished author, and columnist at Prensa Libre (Free Press), El Periodico (The Newspaper), and other magazines.  Giracca is also an advocate for collective human rights with an emphasis on indigenous and children’s rights.  She serves as a consultant on topics of education, interculturality, and communication, and she is a member of numerous counsels, commissions, and associations on education, justice, and multiculturalism.
