The Iranian Cultural Organization of UConn (ICOU) will be hosting a symposium to celebrate the life and legacy of the great mystical poet of the Persian language, Mowlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, known as Rumi, to which all are cordially invited.

The symposium will be held on the 11th of April 2014. It will feature presentations on Rumi, his work and universal message by noted scholars Prof. Abdolkarim Soroush and Prof. Hossein Kamaly.

The event is Free and Public.

3:45-4:05     Rumi's poetry (Dr. Shakibai & Adrian Michael Paulsen)

4:05-4:30     Sufi Music (Iranian ensemble)

4:30-5:30     Rumi and his times (Prof. Kamaly)

5:30-5:45     Break 

5:45-6:15     Indian Sufi music set to Rumi's poetry

6:15-8:00     Fear Sufism/Love Sufism (Prof. Soroush)
