GIS COORDINATOR (Full-time Position)

(35-hours/per week between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday)

The South Western Regional Planning Agency (SWRPA), located in Stamford, Connecticut, seeks applicants for the position of GIS Coordinator.  The individual selected for this position will lead SWRPA’s geographic information systems work program, manage intermunicipal GIS projects, and support SWRPA’s regional and transportation planning programs under the direction of the executive director or his designee.  The GIS Coordinator must possess advanced knowledge of and skills in GIS, cartography, geospatial database design, mapping application development, knowledge of GIS as it relates to urban planning or other municipal government functions, and the ability to work effectively with others.  Graduate degree in GIS, geography, computer science, urban planning, or a related field and at least 2-5 years of progressively responsible experience, with demonstrated technical skills in geographic database design, mapping application development, and data analysis.  Highly qualified candidates with a Bachelors degree may also be considered.
