The Wadsworth Atheneum's First Thursday for June is a "dancin' in the street, '70s-themed block party," and guests are encouraged to come in costume. The fun, from 5 to 9 p.m., includes Hustle dance lessons, a vintage fashion show, a '70s band, body art, a disco ball craft activity, food and the film "American Hustle." Spectators, survivors and walkers infect Hartford's XL Center Saturday, June 7, starting at 5 p.m. for the Walking Dead Escape, a zombie obstacle course where survivors climb, crawl, hide and slide their way through the evac zone while being chased by the undead. $10 to $15. Tree Walk — Connecticut Trails  - Cedar Hill Cemetery – Hartford – June 7 – 10:00 am   Tree experts Ed Richardson and John Kehoe lead this 2-mile walk featuring Cedar Hill’s rare and notable trees. The tour, through the ornamental foreground and historic memorial sections, will highlight trees such as the beautiful European Weeping Beech, the unusual (for the Northeast) Umbrella Magnolia and the Hemlock that had Mr. Richardson “stumped” – for a little while anyway. The Hockanum Valley Ringers - Handbell Ensemble – Trinity Lutheran Church – Vernon - June 7 – 7:00pm The choir rings five octaves of Malmark handbells, along with three and one-half octaves of chimes. We are committed to promoting the art of English Handbell ringing and providing our audiences with exceptional concerts during the spring and Christmas seasons. Our concerts include a variety of musical styles, from classical and Broadway to pop and jazz, along with a sprinkling of original contemporary music written especially for handbells and handchimes.
