52nd Annual West Indian Independence Parade - Hartford - August 9 - 11:00am The parade celebrates the cultures of Jamaica, Trinidad, Tobago and other Caribbean islands through the use of music, dance and community. The parade begins at 11:00am at Main Street and Battle Street and continues on to Asylum Street. The celebration also includes: marching bands, floats, drill teams and dance troupes. The parade stops at Bushnell Park for a day of music, featuring several local and national artists such as Marcia Griffiths, Duane Stephenson, Edwin Yearwood and Pretty Boy Floyd.
