Martin Scorsese Presents: Masterpieces of Polish Cinema  - Cinestudio -  Trinity College – Hartford – August 15 – 28 – 7:30pm (week days) The critically acclaimed new film series Martin Scorsese Presents: Masterpieces of Polish Cinema will screen at Cinestudio, located on the campus of Trinity College in Hartford, August 15-28. This essential selection, individually chosen by Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese, features sixteen brilliant and rarely seen movies from Poland’s best filmmakers. 14th Annual Dragon Boat and Asian Festival - Mortensen Riverfront Plaza -  Hartford – August 16 - 17  (Races start at 8:00am). In 2000, Riverfront Recapture held its 1st Dragon Boat Festival and recruited 30 local teams to compete in a 1-day, community-based race. Since then the Riverfront Dragon Boat & Asian Festival has come a long way, and we are proud to be considered one of the premier dragon boat festivals in the United States. Last year, we hosted a record 93 teams and more than 2,300 athletes from local community organizations and throughout the Northeast. In addition to dragon boat racing, our expanded 2-day festival offers a variety of live Asian entertainment, abundant ethnic food, martial arts demonstrations, and authentic cultural programming.   Admission to the Asian Festival is FREE.
