Hello UConn Huskies!

As another fall semester gets up to speed, we're pleased to announce that "Iranian Cultural Organization of UConn" (ICOU) celebrates "Mehragan" feast on this upcoming Friday! September 12, 2014.

“Mehragan” is a historic festival celebrated to honor the Yazata of “Mehr” (also “Mitra”, “Mithra”, or “Maitreya”), which is responsible for friendship, affection, and love. On this day of the year, people also commemorated the generosity of the mother earth when the farmers collected their crops.

Please be sure to stop by on September 12 at the Student Union room 331 anytime between 7PM and 9PM to grab free ice-cream (fresh from the UConn Dairy Bar!) and snacks and also stay a little longer if you wish to taste a sneak peek of the Persian Music!

 See you soon,

ICOU Board Members
