International Student and Scholar Services is posting this announcement as a public service. Please contact Sakura Takahashi if you have any questions about
the JASC conference. For those interested in the 8th Annual Korean American Conference, please see instructions below.
One final clarification, Ms. Takahashi defined “American student” as any international student, undergraduate or graduate, studying in the US as an American
student. Her organization is interested in students who are studying in the US. I hope this helps.
Thank you.

Dear Professor,
My name is Sakura Takahashi and I am a sophomore at Duke University. I am one of the eight American students planning and executing next year’s
Japan America Student Conference. As you may know, the deadline for applying to the 67th JASC is coming up in a few months.
I would like to ask for your assistance in reaching out to students about this summer opportunity. We are working diligently to create a conference that facilitates enriching dialogue between
Japanese and American students. As a delegate from the 66th conference, the experience taught me much about the issues surrounding US-Japan relations, as well as the importance of taking initiative and working together in a group in order to create mutual
understanding. I would like for more American college students that are interested in Japan to have the same opportunity that I did to grow in their capacity to become future world leaders.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could inform your students about this conference, either in person or by forwarding this message.
There are no requirements with regard to nationality, Japanese language ability, year or major.
Please feel free to respond to this email with comments or questions.
Thank you for your continuing support.
Sincerely,
Sakura Takahashi
