Every October 1, the state of Connecticut updates current infractions and fees. These updates come up in the form of the infraction schedule which lists the violations and the penalty for violating the law.

An infraction is a breach of a state law, regulation or local ordinance. The Connecticut Supreme Court judges determine the penalty fees. These rules and regulations pertain to all possible law violations.

International students who own a car or drive should pay particular attention to the motor vehicle infractions. For example, it is your responsibility to remove all snow from your car, (i.e. the windows, the roof, the trunk and the hood) before driving the vehicle. If you don’t remove the snow, it will cost you $120! Another common infraction is the use of a cell phone while driving, the first time offense will cost you $150, the second offense will cost you $300, and the third offense will cost you $500.

I have highlighted some of the motor vehicle infractions with the dollar amounts for your reference. Here is a partial list of infraction that may interest you.
