I’m passing along a recruiting call I got for an ArcGIS position in Southbury, CT. Please contact Jacob at the below address for details and just let him know I sent you to him. He mentioned he was having trouble finding candidates, and it seems like the position may be wide open for the taking right now. Let me know if one of you takes it.

Nick,

Thank you for your time today and the help to point me in the right direction. Here is some of the info on the position.

It is a small company that deals with mapping the flight routes for about 75% of non-commercial aircraft. As I understand it is like a Garmin for aircraft routes. This position is currently being outsourced by the company and they would like to hire someone full-time in house to deal with this.

As far as I can determine they are collecting the map files from the FAA & NavCanada from in PNG or TIF format.

-       These files are Geo-Referenced using ArcGIS (ESRI)

-       Then uploaded to a file server where an outsourced company then:

-       Creates Offline TPK’s of the following types of maps:  Sectionals, Victor Lows, Jet Highs, Helicopter, TACs, and WACs

-       Creates Online maps for the website – not sure what process is used

The company we use now are ESRI Certified Specialists providing a complete GIS solution that further integrates desktops, server as well as mobile and web applications. Here’s some of the things they do:

·         Publish (tiled or dynamic) Map Services

·         Configure Feature Services for use through Esri's Collector App

·         Create access to GIS data from any platform or device – Android, I-Pad, & soon Windows

The company is located in Southbury, CT. Salary is very open depending on experience.

Best Regards,
