1. Leslie Pelch of VCGI will begin an updated series of webinars on using
QGIS (free and open source GIS software), starting with a basic Intro to
QGIS on Jan. 29 at 2 PM, followed by QGIS: Data Acquisition and
Transformation on February 10th at 1:30 PM. More to be scheduled in March:
Symbology and Labelling, Attribute Data Querying and Analysis, and Map
Layouts. Keep an eye on the VCGI calendar for those.

2. Sight Beyond Sight: The Power of Near-Infrared Imagery for Mapping on
February 19 at 2 PM will provide some "insight" into what color is, how it
can be used, and where you can get IR imagery for NH and VT. The presenter
