This message is a reminder to all international F-1 and J-1 students and scholars that you must have a valid travel signature on your I-20 or DS-2019 to travel outside of the U.S during the summer break. This includes Canada, Mexico and
the Caribbean.
Travel signatures are valid for 12 months if you are a current student or scholar.
Travel signatures are valid for 6 months if you are currently on post-completion OPT.
If you currently have a travel signature that will be valid when you return from your trip, you do not need a new signature at this time.
If you require a new travel signature, please provide the appropriate travel request documents to ISSS and allow 2 weeks for processing:
You can find the required documents and Travel Signature Request Form on our website here:
http://isss.uconn.edu/students/current-students/current-students-travel-requirements/
Please note that if your dependents are traveling, they will also require a valid travel signature.
Please remember that you will NOT be able to re-enter the U.S. without a valid travel signature.
Be sure to submit your travel request at least two weeks in advance of your trip!
Best,
Your friends at ISSS
