PUBLIC HEARING WEDNESDAY FOR HB 1053

House Bill 1053 proposes to ban out-of-school suspensions and expulsions for students in preschool, kindergarten, and grades 1 and 2.  The most recent data from SDE showed a 22% increase in disciplinary sanctions for these youngest students.  Excluding these students is ineffective and counterproductive.  If you are interested in testifying in support of this bill, please contact Kathryn Meyer at [log in to unmask].
