I received an email notification that Esri has discovered a bug in ArcGIS Pro 1.0. It appears that when using the field calculator in ArcGIS Pro it can cause certain fields to be set to null. This seems to occur when you calculate a field associated with a web feature layer or feature service. (These would be data sources you access via ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server or ArcGIS Portal) If you are working with a selection, it will only affect the selected records. This issue does not appear to be a problem if you are working with local data sources such as file geodatabases, enterprise geodatabases, or shapefiles. Esri is working on a fix. In the meantime they recommend you do the following as a work around: * Using ArcMap 10.x, you can make a local copy <http://autobahn.esri.com/esri/etrack.aspx?DSN=b9ca57b2fbe8cb424588078533879 83f6a0f6be5ccdab113&FORMID=5716d13fa095a8bf25150ff08f03b13a&AUDID=a0824aee5f 8fae2c984453d5f6ce1d31&EMAILID=e72be7d1abc0cfbd932000d4a4c143a67d7eec081ef87 30c&DECODE=1&INTID=ded14b7aff7b61593d62bad1a49296ca&URL=http://desktop.arcgi s.com/en/desktop/latest/manage-data/editing-fundamentals/making-a-local-copy -of-a-service-for-editing.htm?utm_source=esri&utm_medium=email&utm_term=1069 04&utm_content=article&utm_campaign=soft_alert_2015> of your feature service for editing. * If your data is housed on ArcGIS.com, you can use the ArcGIS.com map viewer to calculate fields. See how to work with fields <http://autobahn.esri.com/esri/etrack.aspx?DSN=b9ca57b2fbe8cb424588078533879 83f6a0f6be5ccdab113&FORMID=5716d13fa095a8bf25150ff08f03b13a&AUDID=a0824aee5f 8fae2c984453d5f6ce1d31&EMAILID=e72be7d1abc0cfbd932000d4a4c143a67d7eec081ef87 30c&DECODE=1&INTID=ded14b7aff7b61593d62bad1a49296ca&URL=http://doc.arcgis.co m/en/arcgis-online/use-maps/work-with-fields.htm?utm_source=esri&utm_medium= email&utm_term=106904&utm_content=article&utm_campaign=soft_alert_2015> . * You can also connect directly to your enterprise geodatabase in ArcGIS Pro <http://autobahn.esri.com/esri/etrack.aspx?DSN=b9ca57b2fbe8cb424588078533879 83f6a0f6be5ccdab113&FORMID=5716d13fa095a8bf25150ff08f03b13a&AUDID=a0824aee5f 8fae2c984453d5f6ce1d31&EMAILID=e72be7d1abc0cfbd932000d4a4c143a67d7eec081ef87 30c&DECODE=1&INTID=ded14b7aff7b61593d62bad1a49296ca&URL=https://pro.arcgis.c om/en/pro-app/help/data/management/database-connections-in-arcgis-pro.htm?ut m_source=esri&utm_medium=email&utm_term=106904&utm_content=article&utm_campa ign=soft_alert_2015> and calculate the field values, if the feature service is using an enterprise geodatabase as the back end data storage mechanism.
