I thought this might be of interest to the NEARC list.  A good way to be able to contribute to efforts in Nepal -

Dear all,
I'm part of an organisation working to map the ongoing situation in Nepal for aid workers and first responders.
Mapping is done by people at home or work from aerial imagery. If people have a spare 15 minutes and would like to help, please consider doing so.

You may have spotted this via other routes but I felt I needed to share this harrowing and utterly
horrifying first hand account of the Nepal earthquake by Hayley Saul and Emma Waterton (both formerly of the department here at York). They were there as part of The Himalayan Exploration and Archaeological Research Team (HEART) project https://www.facebook.com/HimExpArchResTeam

They have set up a fund to help the three individuals who helped them, but who have lost their families, their homes and their community.
