Cape Cod Commission GIS Intern
The Intern is responsible for supporting Cape Cod Commission staff with day-to-day GIS analysis and cartography needs.  Opportunities to assist with the maintenance of Cape Cod Commission GIS environment and gain exposure to spatial application development are possible.
Principal Responsibilities
*         Provide GIS analysis to support all aspects of a regional planning agency.
*         Create, organize, manage and archive GIS data produced by Cape Cod Commission and outside consultants in a large and complex data storage structure.
*         Update data and symbology in a multi-tiered server environment.

Qualifications
*         Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college.
*         Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or other related field.
*         Strong working knowledge of ESRI's suite of GIS software, including ArcGIS (desktop and online), ArcCatalog, Spatial Analyst and Model Builder.
*         Experience with or knowledge of Enterprise GIS and SQL Server.
*         Knowledgeable with GIS data sources, methods for data acquisition, common data projections, and synthesizing multiple data types.
*         Experience automating geo-processing tasks for repetitive procedures.
*         Experience analyzing and plotting data in Microsoft Excel and/or Matlab.
*         Basic understanding of Global Positioning Systems.
*         Excellent cartography skills and a strong attention to detail.
*         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This is an unpaid position.  A stipend may be available.
