Tom, It seems you might be thinking of an instance on EC2 Amazon shared by multiple users. Basically you could think of Amazon as a virtual cloud machine(s). You can purchase out of the box configured windows desktop(s) with ArcGIS desktop instead of having your OS and GIS on the local PC(s) or local server(s). Nic Berkun M.S.
