The Educational Psychology department in the Neag School of Education is currently seeking applicants for our graduate (MA and PhD) programs in measurement, evaluation, and assessment at the University of Connecticut. Our program prepares graduates to become leaders in educational measurement, test-theory, program evaluation, large-scale and classroom-based assessment practice, educational statistics, quantitative methodology, and educational research methods. Our graduates pursue careers in academia, testing and research companies, evaluation firms, state departments of education, and school districts.

The Ph.D. program in Measurement, Evaluation and Assessment integrates theory and practice to promote the scientific uses of measurement within the field of education and related disciplines. Coursework focuses on current and emerging topics including causality and causal inference, instrument development, classical and modern measurement theory and applications, item response theory, multivariate statistical techniques , multilevel modeling, latent variable modeling, statistical programming, and educational assessment. Generally, students complete 3 years of coursework, followed by 1-2 years of independent research under the mentorship of one or more faculty members. Most full-time students complete the MEA PhD program within 5 years. Many of our full time students are funded through research graduate assistantships, which provide tuition remission, health insurance, and a stipend.

For fullest funding consideration, apply by December 1st, 2015. For more information, see http://mea.education.uconn.edu/ <http://mea.education.uconn.edu/%20>
