Dear international students and scholars,

Please note the following important announcements regarding the Thanksgiving holiday:

·         ISSS A Taste of Thanksgiving: There is one available seat remaining for tomorrow’s “A Taste of Thanksgiving” event. To attend, you must sign up at www.icworkshops.uconn.edu > “Events” > “A Taste of Thanksgiving”. If you have already signed up to attend, but will not be able to attend, please cancel your registration for this event today so that someone else can sign up.

·         ISSS will close Wednesday, November 25th at 3pm and reopen Monday, November 30th, at 8:30 am. Please plan accordingly. In the event of an emergency, please contact UConn police (911 for emergency services, or 860-486-4800).

·         If you have departed the U.S. and you are missing immigration documents for your return (for example, if you forgot or lost your Form I-20 or forgot a travel signature on your I-20), this is not an emergency for which you should contact UConn police. Most likely you will be allowed reentry to the United States, but you may be given extra scrutiny at immigration, or given temporary 30 day admission until you can supply copies of your immigration documents. If this happens, please notify ISSS by email and we will assist you on Monday.

·         Local businesses will be closed Thursday, November 26th for Thanksgiving. This includes grocery stores and most restaurants. Please plan to have enough food on hand to get by on Thursday.

·         UConn Dining Hall holiday hours and meal sign up information:

http://dining.uconn.edu/2015/11/02/thanksgiving-break-meal-plan-sign-up-information-form/  - No dining hall services on Thursday.

·         UConn Retail and On-Campus Food Services (non-dining Hall) holiday schedule: http://dining.uconn.edu/2015/11/02/2015-thanksgiving-break-retail-hours-of-operation/  - No retail/food services on Thursday.

·         On Thanksgiving Day, November 26th,  the Nathan Hill Inn (on campus, Storrs) is presenting “A Thanksgiving Buffet”. http://www.magnetmail.net/actions/email_web_version.cfm?recipient_id=744183370&message_id=11391292&user_id=IHR_storrs&group_id=2158483&jobid=30685149  This is a chance to experience a full, traditional Thanksgiving menu. Price per adult is $28, kids $14 (not including tax or gratuity). Reservations are strongly recommended.

Thank you and have a wonderful holiday!
