Michael, something similar has happened to me. The solution for my problem was to delete the spatial index for the feature class and built a new spatial index. Make sure you first make a back-up copy of the
feature class.

Subject: ArcMap Anomalies: The Mystery of the Missing Features in the Feature Class
Hey gang,
I’ve got a mystery that needs to be solved….
Every once and a while a feature goes missing from one of our feature classes. The timeline usually goes something like this:
-User A creates the Feature 1 in a feature class (this is a line feature class in a file geodatabase).
-User A manually splits Feature 1 into multiple segments making
Feature 1, 2, 3… and saves edits and the MXD.
-User B opens up a blank MXD, adds in the feature class and notices
Feature 2 is missing. It is not selectable nor query-able.
-User B manually adds Feature 2 back into the feature class and saves edits and the MXD.
-User C adds the feature class to a blank MXD and notices that
Feature 2 is missing (despite it being added back by User B).
-Feature 2 is added back to the feature class for a 2nd time and saved.
-User C opens the feature class and see that Feature 2 is now there, but now
Feature 3 is missing.
Has anyone ever experienced something like this? Would you think this is an ArcMap problem or something to do with network connections? This data is located on a network drive so that users in the department can all access it.
Thanks for any insight you can provide!
Kind regards,
Mike Lachance
