GSS Visa Options Seminar and Lunch
Fellow Grad Students,
The Graduate
Student Senate (GSS) is sponsoring a distinguished seminar and lunch for international graduate students regarding visa options after graduation, with a focus on
the less-known alternatives (e.g., EB-1 & EB-2, L-1, O-1, etc.) in addition to the commonly taken routes (e.g., H-1B, employer sponsored Green Card, etc.) offered by Immigration Attorney Dana Bucin.
As an international student who has attended her seminar in a different setting,
I strongly recommend this info session to F and J visa holders, especially those of you who are interested in entrepreneurship and investment interests.
DATE/TIME: Friday April
22nd, 12:00—2:00 pm (Add to calendar)
LOCATION: OAK Hall's
Auditorium (Room 101) (See on the Map)
RSVP: Please
RSVP here (REQUIRED to estimate for catering).

FOOD and the seminar is open to ALL grad student.
DESCRIPTION: The
typical immigration journey for a foreign student after graduation starts with an F-1 student visa while in school, continues with the post-graduation Optional Practical Training (OPT) work permit and usually leads to an employer-sponsored H-1B work visa.
Immigration and Business attorney Dana Bucin will speak on the various creative alternatives to the H-1B visa, with a focus on entrepreneurship/investment-based immigration. The presentation is most appropriate for STEM and Business students or recent graduates
who want to be proactive about their immigration by engaging in entrepreneurial activities.
BIO: Dana
Bucin is an attorney with
Updike, Kelly & Spellacy, P.C. in Hartford,
Connecticut, a law firm affiliated with Meritas law firms worldwide including offices in over 80 foreign countries. As an immigration attorney, Ms. Bucin represents both business and individual clients with Green Card applications, work visas, entrepreneurial/foreign
investor visas, naturalization, and various other business-based, employment-based, and family-based immigration matters. Ms. Bucin is admitted to the bar in the State of Connecticut, State of New York, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the District of Columbia.
She received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and obtained her B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University.
Look forward to seeing you on Friday!
