Over 150 children will have their utilities protected based on the success of this spring's Keep the Power On utility clinics. Clinics for families facing termination of their lights and heat were held in conjunction with our clinical partners at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Yale New Haven Hospital and The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Pro Bono volunteers from the Aetna Legal Department, Pullman & Comley, LLC, Murtha, Culina, LLP and the University of Connecticut and Yale Law Schools provided counseling and support for participating clients. Families were also able to obtain additional services from Community Resource Team of Hartford, Community Action Agency of New Haven, Human Resources Agency of New Britain, Operation Fuel, 211 INFOLINE, Food Share, Center for Care Coordination at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and Lulac Head Start.

The next series of utility clinics will be held in the fall of 2016. If you need any information about the clinics or about utility protections for vulnerable families please contact Alice Rosenthal ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) or me.
