GIS SPECIALIST

 

TOWN OF WESTWOOD

 

 

The Town of Westwood currently has an opening for a full-time GIS Specialist in its Information Technology (IT) Department.  Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the GIS Specialist is responsible for the design and maintenance of geographic base map layers and attribute information; GIS Project Management; mapping and analysis for any Town department; and training and technical support for GIS users.

 

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a GIS-related field (Geography, Engineering, Planning, etc.); thorough knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS desktop software; one year experience in GIS database development and maintenance in a multi-user environment; and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS Server, ESRI JavaScript API, and Microsoft SQL Server is desired.
