The next testing window for the  <https://www.gisci.org/ExamInfo.aspx> GISCI
Geospatial Core Technical Knowledge ExamR as a part of the GISP
Certification is scheduled for July 5-9. The exam will be taken at a PSI
testing facility. These facilities are located worldwide. The exam itself
will be given in a computer based testing (CBT) format. For more general

The Exam application form and testing center locations are now available on
the GISCI web site, and an Exam Application portal is available for direct
Exam application. The exam application process is described below. In
addition to the dates above, the exam may be taken at the PSI San Diego, CA
testing center during the week of the Esri UC (June 27- July 2) for those
that sign up before the application date closes.  The center is located
approx. 14 miles north of the Convention Center, and the exam is being
offered concurrently with the UC, not in association with it. To arrange to
schedule the exam at the UC, apply as instructed below and contact GISCI at

Exam Application Procedure:    

1.     Apply directly with GISCI; Forms available at
<https://www.gisci.org/> https://www.gisci.org using your User Log In

2.     Receive authorization # after application and payment to allow direct
registration with PSI

3.     Schedule a specific exam date and location with PSI, our worldwide
test provider   

 

Existing GISPs are not eligible to take the Exam, and it is not a part of
GISP recertification. You may take the exam even if you have not completed
your portfolio application or have 4 years of Full Time Equivalent (FTE)
experience in the field. Under the current certification requirements, you
now have 6 years to complete the entire GISP application process (Portfolio
& Exam). 

GISCI has posted some exam prep information to help point you in the right
direction to find resources to use when studying for the exam. URISA is
currently working to develop a GISP Exam Prep Workshop. This will not be
available in time for the July exam dates. The initial version of the
workshop will be presented at the GIS Pro conference
