The City of Waterbury is currently utilizing a Carlson Explorer 600+ data collector running Carlson SurvCE for Real Time (RTK) GPS and Total Station with in-field coordinate geometry to collect all of their utility (Water, Storm, Sanitary, Traffic, etc.) information.  They are also utilizing two GNNS Topcon GR3 antennas that operate with GPS/GLONASS.

The equipment is 10 years old and currently utilizing the 2G cellular network which has been discontinued by AT&T this year and, most likely, soon to be discontinued by other providers.  The City is looking to upgrade their hardware to something of equal or greater quality as the current system supplies survey quality points and would prefer antennas that can utilize GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou/Galileo/QZSS and SBAS satellites to improve connection options.

Prior to going out to bid for these items, the City was looking to see what equipment surrounding municipalities / organizations are using to perform their survey quality GPSing.  Any information or insight you can provide would be appreciated.
