I apologize for anyone getting this twice due to Xpost.
For those of you who have been following the issues in Silver Stream / Washington Lake due to probable contamination of PFOS in the stream from a discharge at a nearby Air base, this is a clear case where GIS (Stream flow, etc.) and environment
become a part of a GIS pros ability to do some form of predictive modelling:

In addition to potential contaminants, there is now an additional issue with dam volume and release issues. Predictive modeling GIS may or may not have averted some of this, but I post it here as a thought exercise: What kind of prior and
post information do we need to make a useful, actionable prediction about stream contamination and its effects?
