After replacing a map service with a secured service the issue was resolved for me in an embedded web map using the service.

Subject: [NEARC-L] Chrome version 52.0.2743.116 bug with ArcGIS Online
So I got this report off another GIS List I am on and thought I would pass it along.
It appears that the latest update for the Chrome browser (52.0.2743.116) broke at least a couple things in ArcGIS Online. These are bugs are now known and ESRI is waiting on Chrome developers to push a new update, hopefully by next week.
These bugs caused me a lot of headache as I was setting up new AGOL services and maps the last two weeks, so I imagine they may affect others who use Chrome and AGOL. Beware of these bugs if you're using the latest Chrome version!
Using another browser like Firefox, IE, or by downgrading to a previous version of Chrome will allow you to avoid these issues in the meantime.
Thanks to Calvin Harmin with the Town of Fuquay-Varina, NC for passing this along originally.
