Professional, highly technical & highly responsible administrative work in documenting, managing, organizing & recording information regarding infrastructure (roads, water, sewer, marine, recreational, buildings, etc.), & utilities located within the Town. This position is responsible for collecting, digitizing, & managing spatial data using AutoCAD, Esri ArcGIS software, databases, & GPS software. Integrates data from asset management/work-order database programs, as-built record drawings, & field data collection to provide end users w/ accurate lists, mapping & attribute information. Serves as DPW’s representative overseeing the Town’s Enhanced 911 systems. Requires the ability to apply GIS & database technology to produce advanced analysis & databases, to perform complex, integrated analysis for users using advanced spatial analysis & modeling. Familiar w/ SQL databases, cartographic principles, geographic database design, map design, & manual drafting principles. Responsible for the management & organization of the various AutoCAD products & licenses throughout the Department. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field, & over five years of work experience in CAD/GIS; knowledge of construction & construction practices; or any equivalent combination of education & experience.
