Hi,
is there a way to add new point features to a feature class, and have the
points show up on the map, by editing the attribute table or using the
create feature template (or some other method!)- without manually locating
the point on the map?

I have a data set of 1800+ features (archaeological sites). In working with
the feature class I created of these features, I found that there were 30
sites missing...I tried adding those by just adding them to the attribute
table in an edit session, but the points did not appear on the map. I then
tried using the create new features template, and still - not on the map
(and in this case, also not added to the attribute table) unless I manually
placed them on the map. The features all have geographic coordinates...

I can add them manually, or, I can edit the original excel file and start
all over again...but first, I figured I'd ask people who know what they are
doing if there is some way of adding the features and attributes within
ArcGIS. What have I not learned?

Thanks!
