See below for information sessions on the 2017-18 Open Choice process hosted by the Village for Families & Children

It’s hard to believe that it’s already time for families to complete the 2017-2018 Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) Lottery Applications. Applications can be submitted starting Tuesday, November 1^st and until Tuesday, February 28^th. The Village is once again a Satellite Site to assist families with completing and/or answering questions during this time frame. I’m excited to coordinate The Village’s efforts to support the families we serve in accessing quality education in Hartford and the greater Hartford area.

There will be   with at least one happening at each of the main locations. Flyers will be out shortly that can be shared with families. The dates and times are as follows:

·         Wednesday, November 16^th               8:30-10:30am                     Village South

·         Wednesday, December 7^th                  4-7pm                                   Village South

·         Thursday, January 12^th                           3-6pm                                   1680 Albany Ave.

·         Wednesday, January 25^th                     9-11am, 2-4pm                  105 Spring St.

These sessions are an amazing opportunity for families to obtain immediate assistance regarding questions/concerns. Staff will be posted in all location waiting areas at during these sessions to address basic questions. Also, rooms will be available nearby for families that either want privacy around the support they’re seeking or for staff to help them complete the online RSCO application live at Village South and Spring St. English and Spanish-speaking staff will be available for all sessions.

One of The Village’s mission goals is to support children in succeeding academically and there’s so much that each and every one of us can do to contribute to their success. RSCO materials will be available in the waiting areas of Village South, 1680 Albany Ave., and Spring St.  The RSCO website, http://www.choiceeducation.org/, is very user friendly. Please encourage families to explore the site and take moment to check it out for yourself so you can be ready for the upcoming RSCO Lottery season!
