Hi Everybody. I am happy to announce that the statewide, 2016, 3 inch aerial imagery is now available on the CT ECO website<http://cteco.uconn.edu/>! The dataset is currently available<http://cteco.uconn.edu/data/flight2016/index.htm>
- as a dynamic image service and a cached image service,
- for download<http://cteco.uconn.edu/data/download/flight2016/index.htm> by tile (PLEASE use the download manager if you will be downloading more than a couple of tiles) and
- in the Aerial Imagery Viewer<http://cteco.uconn.edu/viewers/index.htm#aerial> for viewing
along with metadata<http://cteco.uconn.edu/metadata/dep/document/ortho_2016_fgdc_plus.htm>, help and more. Still coming are town mosaics for download and all lidar products including DEM tiles, elevation image services and LAS files.

The project was managed by the Capitol Region Council of Governments<http://www.crcog.org/> (CRCOG), on behalf of the Connecticut regional councils of governments, and funded by the Connecticut Office of Policy and Management (OPM)<http://www.ct.gov/opm/cwp/view.asp?A=2985&Q=487924> with contributions from the Connecticut Department of Transportation<http://www.ct.gov/dot/site/default.asp> (DOT) and the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection<http://www.ct.gov/despp/site/default.asp> (DESPP). The project management team includes municipal, regional, state and university representatives.

Keep in mind that the image services are in WGS84 Web Mercator (Auxiliary Sphere) and the tiles are in CT State Plane NAD 83 (2011) Feet. Also, the GeoTIFF tiles are approximately 381 MB each and the MrSID tiles are between 14 and 20 MB each.

The new aerials are part of a major, ongoing upgrade of CT ECO. More to come on that! Emily
