Hello CTSIGsters, The news has been sadly filled with natural and man-made disasters. These last few weeks especially! But it is not all just despair. There are very active efforts happening with mappers for areas affected by hurricane Maria and Mexico City earthquake among others. GISsters and mappers: novices to experts can help in lessening some of the impacts. Some of projects require professional mapping expertise but others solo patience and working as a Digitizing Grunt. I have been involved with the GISCorps since Hurricane Katrina where we had 35+ volunteers on the ground. For the most recent disasters, almost all are working remotely. You can commit couple of hours to a couple of hundred hours Find out a bit about (OSM) OpenStreetMap, (HOT) Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, GISCorps and some of the other projects at the following websites: http://tasks.hotosm.org/about http://tasks.hotosm.org/ https://www.openstreetmap.org http://www.giscorps.org Thanks! bruce -- .:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:..:*~*:._.:*~*:._ Bruce D.
