I am curious if anyone has experience with hiring contractors who use drones for generating planimetric and orthophoto base mapping rather than more traditional aerial flyovers? Probably more at the sub-municipal, college/university geographic extents (20 or 40 scale). I would appreciate hearing your experiences, especially the pros and cons of drone use versus traditional flyovers. Please feel free to email me directly and I will compile the responses.
