Planning to submit a presentation abstract for the 2018 Fall NEARC Conference? Don't miss the Friday, July 13 deadline!

Presentation proposals are being accepted for the regular Fall NEARC Conference (Monday, October 29 - Wednesday, October 31) as well as the GIS Educators Day (Sunday, October 28). 

NEW THIS YEAR! User sessions will be scheduled on Monday and Tuesday ONLY. The half-day Wednesday schedule will solely feature Esri-content including hands-on, BYOD workshops! Topics to be announced in the coming weeks. See schedule-at-a-glance for reference.

To submit an abstract for consideration, review the presenter guidelines, then click the button below to submit a proposal online. 

Presentation Format Options

·         ​Oral Presentations: 30 minutes in length (including time for Q&A)

·         Panel Presentations: with up to 3 presenters (you must submit the complete presentation concept as part of your abstract.)

·         Workshop: Intensive 1.5 hour workshop on a specific topic.

·         Poster Presentations: printed or digital format accepted. Awards will be given to the top poster presentations.

Important Reminders:

·         Abstract submissions will only be accepted online.

·         All submissions must be received by the July 13, 2018 deadline.

·         The presentation must be product-neutral and cannot market specific products and/or services.

·         Presenters are required to register and pay to attend the conference at the applicable rates. A limited number of scholarships are available for those who would like to present, but do not have funding to attend. FEATURED EVENT: Keynote Address by Christian Carlson

Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Opening Session.

Christian Carlson is currently responsible for leading the strategic direction of Esri's global state and local government sector.

For over two decades, Christian has leveraged his knowledge of geographic information systems, geography and data to transform the way governments, commercial organizations, and utilities do business. His work connecting technology and technology innovations to business requirements has been a catalyst in establishing what is now a pervasive use of GIS in government. Today, Christian is actively involved in applying GIS capabilities to global initiatives including Smart Cities, Resiliency, Citizen Engagement and High-Performance Government.  

Prior to Esri, Christian worked for the State of North Carolina Division of Coastal Management as GIS Analyst, where he collected and analyzed data supporting multiple program initiatives including coastal wetlands delineation and cumulative impacts of pollution and runoff in North Carolina's coastal waterways. Continue reading

Overnight accommodations are available to Fall NEARC Conference participants at the Saratoga Hilton at a discounted group rate of $169/night plus tax (currently at 13%). ​Reservations must be made on or before the cut-off date of Saturday, October 6, 2018 in order to be eligible for the group rate. Please be aware that ​NEARC works on behalf of its constituents by negotiating favorable rates with the host hotel, and receives complimentary meeting space and other concessions because of our room block contract commitment with the hotel. A discounted registration rate is available to attendees staying at the Saratoga Hilton!
