GIS MANAGER

TOWN OF WELLESLEY

 

Are you a GIS or IT professional, looking for a challenging and rewarding position in local government? If so, the town of Wellesley is seeking to hire a full-time (35 hours/week) GIS Manager. As a member of our IT Department, you’ll join a talented team of individuals that strive to deliver excellent customer service while helping town leaders to work more efficiently and make informed decisions.

 

What you’ll do… Under the direction of the IT Director, the GIS Manager provides leadership for all aspects of the town’s successful GIS program, and helps drive decision-making in town government with maps, data, and analytics. You’ll be a project manager, system administrator, application developer, and the town’s technical resource and primary support for data, software, and services built on ESRI technology. You’ll also manage a full-time GIS Administrator and seasonal/temporary department assistants.

 

What you’ll need… Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in geography/GIS or related technical discipline; three years of experience managing a multi-user GIS; and extensive knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS platform. The ideal candidate would also possess knowledge of Microsoft’s SQL Server (or similar RDBMS) and experience with municipal data or systems.
