Mike:
Are there any NULL values in the field? NULL won’t be included in a <> evaluation. To include NULL values, you would have to write:
“Complete” <> ‘yes’ or “Complete” is NULL
(Assuming that a NULL value means that it isn’t complete).
Hope this helps,
Jay

Subject: Definition Query on Hosted Feature Layer
Hello Everyone,
I am just curious as to if anyone else has experienced this issue:
When applying a definition query to a hosted feature layer from within arcmap, the results are inaccurate/records dropped.
I'm running a simple hosted feature layer for field notes with a field for 'complete', 'yes/no'. "Complete" <> 'yes' will return some but not all of the results. The total number of records is under 1000, so I don't believe it's a matter
of too many returns.
I'm running arcmap 10.4.1. That's probably the crux of the issue so if anything, now ya know!
Cheers,
Mike Ray
